Drew’s on the Move: Ciao, Milano!

June 11–12, 2026 | Milan, Italy

There’s just something about kicking off a European adventure in Italy! Amazing food, incredible wine, a little shopping (okay, maybe more than a little!), and beautiful sights. Milan was the perfect first stop on our European getaway, and although our time here was short, we certainly made the most of every minute!

Day One: Red Bottoms, Red Wine & All Things Milan! 🍷👠

We took a red-eye flight out of Boston Logan and landed in Milan on June 11th. Honestly, the flight wasn’t bad at all! We were excited to get our European adventure started and couldn’t wait to explore.

Our first stop was checking into the Marriott Duo Milan to drop off our bags. And what better way to kick off a European vacation than with a little designer shopping?!

That’s right, we headed straight to Christian Louboutin! A couple of pairs of red bottoms later, and I’d say we were officially off to a fabulous start!

After traveling all night (and a little retail therapy), we were STARVING. We made our way to Beef Club Milano, and wow, what a way to start the trip! The food was unbelievable, the wine was flowing, and we were quickly reminded why we love dining in Europe so much. Everything was absolutely delicious!

After lunch, we headed back to the hotel to unpack, freshen up, and get ready for the evening.

Next up was Drybar Milano, and let me tell you, the pizza and wine were INSANE! There’s nothing quite like enjoying authentic Italian pizza with a great glass of wine while soaking up the atmosphere of a new city. We were loving every second of Milan!

Day Two: Exploring Milan, Champagne & an Unforgettable Dinner 🥂

We woke up ready to see everything Milan had to offer! With only one full day to explore, we had a lot on our list.

First things first: breakfast!

We headed to Zelo at the Four Seasons Hotel Milano, which was the perfect way to start our morning. A beautiful setting, delicious breakfast, and a little luxury before a full day of sightseeing.

From there, we made our way to the iconic Duomo di Milano.

WOW. Pictures truly don’t do this cathedral justice. It was absolutely stunning and honestly breathtaking to see in person. The architecture, the details, the sheer size of it all — just incredible! This is one of those places you absolutely have to experience for yourself.

Of course, we couldn’t visit Milan without doing some more shopping! We spent the next couple of hours wandering the streets surrounding the Duomo, popping into stores, exploring the beautiful area, and taking it all in.

All that walking and shopping definitely worked up an appetite!

We headed over to the Porta Garibaldi–Porta Nuova area and found a rooftop restaurant where we enjoyed a couple of glasses of champagne. Between the city views, the atmosphere, and the champagne, it was such a fun way to spend part of our afternoon!

Next, we stopped at the gorgeous Mandarin Oriental Milan for a cocktail. I absolutely love checking out beautiful hotels when we travel, especially when they have an amazing bar! It was the perfect little stop before dinner.

And speaking of dinner…

We had reservations at Beefbar Milano, and we had been looking forward to this one!

Let me just say, it did NOT disappoint.

The food, the cocktails, the atmosphere — everything was unbelievable! One of those dinners where you just sit back, enjoy every bite, sip your wine, and appreciate being exactly where you are.

It was the absolute perfect way to end our quick visit to Milan.

Until Next Time, Milano! 🇮🇹

Although we only had a short time in Milan, we packed in so much! From designer shopping and stunning architecture to incredible restaurants, rooftop champagne, and unforgettable meals, this city really delivered.

Milan has such a unique combination of fashion, history, luxury, and amazing food. It’s a city that knows how to do all of those things VERY well!

Would I go back? In a heartbeat!

But our European adventure was just getting started, and it was time to see where Drew’s on the Move would take us next!

Ciao for now, Milano! ❤️🇮🇹
